Description
The City of Sandusky (pop. 2700) is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Police/Utility Billing Clerk. The City of Sandusky is a vibrant community located in the Thumb of Michigan. The position works under the general direction of the Police Chief, City Clerk and City Manager. Qualified applicants for this position will be responsible for both job tasks. As for the Utility Billing Clerk, the applicant will process utility bills, take payments at counter, assist citizens at counter, general office clerk tasks, answer phones, mail utility bills and newsletters, schedule appointment of DPW for utility issues and other duties assigned by supervisors. The Police Clerk, the applicant provides general assistance to the Police Chief and officers, package reports and documents for court system, evidence technician, TAC coordinator, reporting to state, background checks and FOIA fulfillment and compliance. This is not an exhaustive list of tasks it is to provide general knowledge of position. Applicants must possess basic math skills, customer care, phone etiquette, and ability to use computer software packages for position.
Compensation per GELC union contract (4 year pay scale ranges from $17.69 to $21.38), paid training, and a competitive fringe benefits package (healthcare- BC/BS, Municipal Employee Retirement System pension, 457 retirement, life insurance, paid vacation, personal and sick time) is provided. (Lateral transfers may be considered due to experience)
